Finance and Operations Associate, East Africa
Camco is looking for an experienced finance and operations professional with a passion for climate and impact investing in developing markets to join its East Africa team based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Central to the role will be managing the fund operations for the Camco-managed Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP) and any other platforms that Camco manages. This will involve, among other things, monitoring cashflows and updating the loan management system; building and updating interest calculation spreadsheets for fixed income instruments; monitoring financial and reporting covenants; and designing and documenting fund operations processes.

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director, the successful applicant will work alongside the Camco team to review, revise, streamline and manage all portfolio reporting across all Camco’s activities, and help to manage all financial and accounting requirements for the Camco Group.

The Finance and Operations Associate will also help to manage the finances of REPP in accordance with Camco’s management mandate and REPP policies and procedures. This will include, among other things, assisting with maintaining REPP’s accounts and managing its cashflow and bank transactions, keeping REPP forecasts up to date and assisting with the preparation and management of the audit of annual financial statements.

Applicants should have at least an undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, engineering or a similar relevant field and hold an accountancy or other professional financial qualification. They are also required to have three or more years’ applied experience in a similar role, have excellent written and oral communication skills (perfect English is necessary), be proficient with Microsoft Excel and have excellent attention to detail.
