Applications open for REPP 2 TAF gender-forward innovation grants

The REPP 2 Technical Assistance Facility (TAF), managed by Camco, is now accepting applications for Proof of Concept (PoC) grants under Pillar 2: Gender Equity. The grants support the next generation of women-led innovation in Africa’s distributed renewable energy (DRE) sector.

These 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝟭𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 are designed to help early-stage enterprises test, validate and refine innovative business models, products or services that accelerate clean energy access and deliver meaningful benefits for women.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆?

• Women-led or women-owned DRE enterprises (aligned with 2X GLI Criterion 1), and/or

• Enterprises with intentional women-as-end-user focus (aligned with 2X GLI Criterion 4)

Eligible companies must be active in Sub-Saharan Africa and operating in the renewable energy or energy-enabled productive use sectors.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗖 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀

• Piloting new or adapted business models

• Testing innovative products or services

• Early customer acquisition and market validation

• Deploying prototypes or initial systems

• Strengthening operational systems for scale

• Demonstrating commercial viability and investment readiness

The goal? To help promising enterprises move toward future investment, including potential entry into the REPP 2 pipeline.

Women-led and gender-smart DRE enterprises are driving impact across Africa but remain significantly underfunded. Through this targeted support, REPP 2 aims to expand the number of investable 2X-aligned companies and strengthen gender equity within the DRE ecosystem.
