The TIDES Fund has been launched with a USD24m cornerstone commitment from the UK and New Zealand governments, signed today by Hon. Simon Watts MP FCA, Iona Thomas and Camco CEO Geoff Sinclair.

The Fund will mobilise USD100m to support solar, wind and mini-grid projects in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.

The initiative aims to accelerate clean energy deployment in the region while strengthening climate resilience and supporting sustainable development outcomes for Pacific communities.

Beyond energy generation, the Fund is designed to contribute to improved livelihoods, resilience and long-term economic opportunity, supporting communities as they adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Camco would like to thank its partners and the Pacific stakeholders who helped shape the initiative, as well as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
