The success of the Spark Energy Services (Spark) concept hinges on building strong relationships with renewable energy and/or energy efficiency companies (or "development partners", as we like to call them) operating in our initial target markets of Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda.
Since Camco created Spark in 2021 we have signed funding agreements with four leading clean energy solutions providers in Kenya and South Africa, each of them doing great work in their fields to increase the update of energy efficiency and/or renewable energy solutions and decarbonise the C&I sector. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to each of them, starting today with our very first partner, Energy Saving Solutions (ESS). ESS (ESS - Energy Saving Solutions Limited) is a Kenya-based energy solutions provider, specialising in energy efficient LED lighting, building automation, energy management and solar energy installations for the C&I sector. Whether providing their products and services for new builds or retrofitting existing ones, ESS’s focus is on helping their customers consume less energy and thereby reduce their carbon emissions and costs. Last year, ESS completed work on Spark’s pilot project at Brookhouse School in Nairobi, which involved rooftop solar PV and a host of energy efficiency measures.
