Introducing Safi Power, Spark Energy Services development partner

In this second post in our series introducing Spark’s development partners, we’re turning the spotlight on Kenya-based regional clean energy developer, Safi Power. Headquartered in Nairobi, Safi Power has been creating customised solar and other renewable energy solutions for Eastern Africa’s commercial and industrial sector for four years, with a team that has a background of over 10 years in the renewable energy space. The company offers its clients a full suite of renewable energy services, from site feasibility, power consumption profiling and business case financial modelling, to fully financed project design, EPC and ongoing operation and monitoring. Among Safi Power’s projects in various sectors to date are a grid-tied solar rooftop system for a soft drink bottling company near Mombasa, another at a large Nairobi-based hotel and another at the headquarters of a leading transport and logistics company just outside Nairobi. The Spark team was impressed with Safi Power’s experience and vision of its management team, and signed a development partner agreement with them in Q2 2021. We are now working on our first project together - a 90kWp rooftop installation for a paper manufacturer in Juja, Kenya - with more exciting projects in the near-term pipeline.
