Camco is supporting a collaboration between Prado Power and Farm Warehouse through funding from Camco’s REPP 2 Technical Assistance Facility. The partnership is piloting energy-efficient productive use equipment for women in Benue State, Nigeria, combining reliable solar mini-grid power with integrated agricultural services, including inputs, equipment, microcredit and insurance.

The initiative is designed to strengthen rural livelihoods by linking clean energy access with practical, income-generating agricultural activities.

In many off-grid communities across Africa, women carry a significant share of household and community energy responsibilities, often alongside time-intensive subsistence work. By combining energy access with productive use applications, the initiative helps reduce manual labour, save time and create opportunities for income generation, while also improving access to education, health and information.

The project aligns with 2X Gender Lens Investing (GLI) criteria and reflects REPP 2’s commitment to supporting interventions that advance clean energy access, improve agricultural productivity, strengthen livelihoods and promote gender inclusion, while also demonstrating a scalable model for rural development.
